The Yorkshire Journal
Duncan honed his exploring, writing and photographic skills in the 1990s through a series of journeys he made with his late father and fellow explorer, Trevor A. D. Smith. Together they criss-crossed Sheffield and Yorkshire, their home town and county respectively. The result was a handful of pioneering books describing not only the major sights but also the strange, curious and unusual ones. Duncan’s solo effort Yorkshire A Portrait in Colour (with stunning photos by Trevor Croucher) published by The Dovecote Press followed in 1995. It garnered considerable press acclaim and remained in print for over twenty years. All five books are now out of print but still readily available secondhand through Amazon and other online booksellers.
